Comme vous le savez, l’Archos 5 3G de SFR s’est très bien vendu ces derniers temps grâce à son faible prix (voir ici).

Du coup, il y a eu bien plus de personnes mobilisées pour hacker cette version de l’Archos 5.

Ça a d’abord été la possibilité de supprimer l’interface de SFR pour avoir un 5g (sans flash ni pdf).

Nous avons maintenant la possibilité d’installer Angström sur cet appareil.

ATTENTION: Après installation d’angström n’essayez surtout pas de réinstaller un firmware SFR ou le firmware Archos standard par le menu de restauration. Cela rendra inutilisable votre Archos qui deviendrait un beau presse papier.

SFR propose l’Archos 3G+ (Archos 5 TIM bénéficiant de la technologie 3G). Il suffit de se rendre sur la page SFR dédiée et de souscrire à un pass 3G+ : 3G sans abonnement (paiement à la consommation).
Si on se fiche de la 3G, ça fait un Archos 5 TIM à 49 € (9 € avec l’abonnement 3G). Enfin … presque … SFR n’a pas suivi le produit qui n’a pas bénéficié des dernières mises à jour et ne bénéficie pas des dernières innovations.

MAJ : vu les échos, cette machine est en train de partir à grande vitesse. Quoi qu’ai pu dire SFR à l’époque, et vu les échos, cette machine plait mais le prix était clairement abusé et non compétitif (229 € + abonnement de 24 mois).

Et voilà, pour certaines personnes les 6 mois d’utilisation de leur Archos 3G by SFR arrivent, ils ont le droit de demander à SFR le désimlockage de leur Archos afin d’accepter les autres opérateurs.

• System: USB transfer was very slow in recovery mode

• System: Sometimes the clock was wrong after a Suspend or a USB connection

• Network Browser: Some directories had wrong names (first letter repeated) and could not be opened
• Settings Wizard: It was not possible to select a month other than 10, 11 or 12

• Wifi: It was sometimes not possible to connect to Hidden SSID access points because the “Connect” button remained greyed out
